Italy-based De’Longhi Group has paid €662.5 million (US$744 million) to increase its ownership of the professional coffee business containing La Marzocco and Eversys from approximately 61% to 88%.

The deal comes as revenue from the business has risen by more than 50% since the combination was announced in 2023, according to De’Longhi Group.

Completed Oct. 16, the deal does not represent a new acquisition of either espresso machine company. Instead, De’Longhi bought an additional 26.46% stake in the professional coffee division from DLI Limited, a related company that is part of De’Longhi’s ownership structure.

De’Longhi first entered the professional espresso equipment business by acquiring 40% of Swiss super-automatic machine maker Eversys in 2017, then bought the remaining 60% in 2021. La Marzocco followed a different path. DLI — the investment company that also controls De’Longhi — had become majority owner of the Florence-based espresso machine manufacturer.

In late 2023, De’Longhi announced plans to bring La Marzocco and Eversys under a shared corporate structure while maintaining them as separate brands. When that transaction closed in February 2024, De’Longhi contributed Eversys and invested additional cash, emerging with a 61.6% effective stake in the combined professional coffee division. DLI retained about 26.5%, while longtime La Marzocco shareholders held the remainder.

The latest transaction removes DLI Limited’s stake. De’Longhi purchased DLI Limited’s entire 26.46% interest in the professional division, raising De’Longhi’s effective ownership of La Marzocco and Eversys to 88.02%. The remaining 11.98% continues to be held by existing minority shareholders, De’Longhi announced earlier this month.

De Longhi Industrial S.A., meanwhile, remains De’Longhi’s controlling shareholder, with approximately 53.5% of De’Longhi shares and 69.5% of voting rights, according to De’Longhi Group. Because the buyer and seller are closely related, the transaction underwent additional review under rules governing related-party deals.

The ownership change comes as the professional division has grown substantially, De’Longhi said in an announcement of the deal. For the 12 months ending June 30, La Marzocco and Eversys generated €569 million (US$639 million) in revenue, up 38%, with adjusted EBITDA of €172 million (US$193 million). Revenue has risen more than 50% since the combination was announced in 2023, while adjusted EBITDA has doubled.

De’Longhi now values the equity in the professional coffee business at approximately €2.5 billion (US$2.81 billion), nearly double its approximately €1.28 billion (US$1.44 billion) valuation in late 2023. The company expects the division to surpass €600 million (US$674 million) in revenue in 2026.

The transaction follows a 2025 management restructuring that placed longtime La Marzocco executive Guido Bernardinelli atop the professional division, while naming Lorenzo Carboni CEO of La Marzocco and Stefano Barato general manager of Eversys.
